In order to help get the project off the ground, we are seeking contributors, both for the exchange of ideas and expertise, and to contribute to the development of the tools to showcase the advantages of editable PDF.
The open-source formatting tool Pint Publisher is being developed to prototype and demonstrate some of the features of hybrid and editable PDF. It is Apache licensed and available on GitHub here.
A Wiki is currently being prepared to facilitate exchange of ideas. If you would like to share your ideas or contribute in the meantime, please get in touch.
If you are close to Halifax, Canada, please consider visiting the Workshop on the Future of Scholarly Publishing on August 28, which will be co-hosted with DocEng 2018. This workshop will provide the opportunity to exchange many of the ideas discussed here, as well as trialling a new publication workflow based on these technologies.
